Welcome to Scars And Crowns

After 4 days of “night labouring”, and several hours in the delivery room, I was rushed in to have an emergency c-section. The following weeks and months left me with wishes, wants, and pain. My c-section scar was a constant reminder of what I felt like was failure.

About 5 and a half months later, my newborn son underwent skull surgery for Sagittal Craniosynostosis; leaving him with a scar down the centre of his head. Although this diagnosis impacts many families, I felt so alone during this journey. I wanted to share his story with others.

This is where the idea of the blog was born – a place where I could share the highs and lows and the journeys of how we got our scars, the ups and downs of parenting and womanhood, and the joys and pains of life. Our scars and our crowns.
